U11-U12

U11-U12

This stage of the BC Soccer Player Pathway continues with disciplined training and begins to develop players' understanding of principles of play alongside their skills practice. Repetitions are important to develop technical proficiency, but creating a fun and challenging environment is still paramount to stimulate learning and promote a love of the game. Game formats can range from 6v6 to 8v8 as players advance through this stage, and again a simple league schedule can be created, but no standings should be kept – the emphasis is still FUN.

U11 and U12 consists of both House and Rep teams.
House players will continue to play in our SCYSA House league, which runs from September, and wraps up with a House Year End Tournament on the first weekend in March.
Players chosen for a Rep Team, based on a combination of in-season and year-end evaluation, will play in the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL). The BCCSL consists of teams from Alouette, Burnaby, Fraser Valley, North Shore, Richmond, South Fraser, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver Youth Soccer Districts. Rep teams will play home games on the Sunshine Coast, and away games in the lower mainland.
