U4-U5 Active StartSoccer contributes to the well-being of children by engaging them in the sport while teaching them basic movements. At this introductory stage, players will participate in stimulating games that develop basic technical skills in a FUN atmosphere. The emphasis will be movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic principles of play within a fun but structured setting. Physical – Provide the environment for learning proper fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing and catching. Technical – The player and the ball: Running with the ball, dribbling, controlling, kicking and shooting. Tactical – None. Mental – Fun, fascination, and passion for play.

Players must be born between January 1, 2018 and April 1, 2020** to register. Exceptions to this may be granted on request (coastsoccer@gmail.com). While some children are able to participate fully in coordinated activities such as this (each activity lasts about 10 minutes), others find it difficult.
**If your child is born between April 1, 2020 and June 17, 2020, registration is conditional to a guardian of this child attending an Active Start Coaching Course, and helping to coach their child’s team.
