Phase 3 – Final Selection Group
Who participates:
- A very small number of players who progressed from Phase 2
- Typically two to three players per year of birth, depending on the number of stand out players during phase 2
What Phase 3 involves:
- Selected players are invited to train with current Competitive or Pre-Competitive teams
- This phase takes place over multiple weeks
- Players are assessed within the full team training environment
Evaluation approach:
- The Technical Director continues to lead the evaluation process
- Current Competitive and Pre-Competitive coaches provide input
- All players training within the environment are observed continuously
Outcome of Phase 3:
- Final team decisions are made based on cumulative observations across weeks
- Decisions consider individual performance, depth balance, positional needs and readiness for the competitive environment
