Phase 3 – Final Selection Group

Who participates:

  • A very small number of players who progressed from Phase 2
  • Typically two to three players per year of birth, depending on the number of stand out players during phase 2

What Phase 3 involves:

  • Selected players are invited to train with current Competitive or Pre-Competitive teams
  • This phase takes place over multiple weeks
  • Players are assessed within the full team training environment

Evaluation approach:

  • The Technical Director continues to lead the evaluation process
  • Current Competitive and Pre-Competitive coaches provide input
  • All players training within the environment are observed continuously

Outcome of Phase 3:

  • Final team decisions are made based on cumulative observations across weeks
  • Decisions consider individual performance, depth balance, positional needs and readiness for the competitive environment
