Active Start Fall Registration

Active Start Registration for U4 through U5 for Fall 2022

Registration Fee: $50.00
Event Dates:   10 sessions April 2 to June 18, 2022, excluding long weekends

Soccer contributes to the well-being of children by engaging them in the sport while teaching them basic movements.   At this introductory stage, players will participate in stimulating games that develop basic technical skills in a FUN atmosphere. The emphasis will be movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic principles of play within a fun but structured setting.

  • Physical – Provide the environment for learning proper fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing and catching.

  • Technical – The player and the ball: Running with the ball, dribbling, controlling, kicking and shooting.

  • Tactical – None.

  • Mental – Fun, fascination, and passion for play.

Interested in Coaching? Parent Volunteer Coaches are needed in order to offer this program. Free training is provided, and most can be done online. If you're interested in coaching this program, please send an email to house_director@scysa.ca

Notes:

Full participation by one adult per child is required. In the case of two siblings, one adult for both is fine.

Players must be born between January 1st, 2018 and September 17th, 2019** to register. Exceptions to this may be granted on request (coastsoccer@gmail.com). While some children are able to participate fully in coordinated activities such as this (each activity lasts about 10 minutes), others find it difficult.

**If your child is born between September 17th, 2019 and November 26th, 2019, registration is conditional to a guardian of this child attending an Active Start Coaching Course, and helping to coach their child’s team. The Active Start coaching course fee is covered by the SCYSA, and includes a 1.5 hour online theory portion, followed by a 2 hour on-field practical workshop. No pre-requisites required.

If you did not register a player during 2021/22 season,  you will need to start by creating a New Player username and password.  You will do this once only, and the username and password you create will be your access to the registration system for all players under 18 years of age.

If you previously registered a player, but cannot remember your username and password, retrieve username and password

Please have the player's MSP number handy.  Players must be registered one at a time.

Prior to placing your child on a team, it is necessary payment be received in full.

We will do our best to accommodate at least 1 friend request per player. Players must enter their friend request when registering, or by emailing house_director@scysa.ca prior to August 1st, 2022. We cannot guarantee any friend or team requests for those players registering and requesting after the August 1st cut-off date.
